Hollywood Buzz #50

O que se diz lá fora acerca de THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3, de Tony Scott:

«There’s not much wrong with Tony Scott’s THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3, except that there’s not much really right about it.»
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times.

«THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3 is an efficiently reworked version of a tense, ticking-clock suspense story.»
Todd McCarthy, Variety.

«Like the original film, [...] this version, with a script by Brian Helgeland, deals with the brazen, borderline-insane hijacking of a local train on the Lexington Avenue line, but the subway system itself serves as an index of how the city and action-movie technology have evolved over the years.»
A.O. Scott, New York Times.

«An open-hydrant whoooosh of an action thriller about a hijacked NYC subway train with passengers held as hostages -- a caffeinated update of a 1974 city-on-fire cult classic that cracked wise with a cynical, now nostalgia-inducing, graffiti-era veracity.»
Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly.

«This movie hits you like 600 volts from a sparking third rail. Damn straight it's electrifying.»
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone.

Recordo-me de ver o original há uns 15 anos atrás e tenho a certeza de que gostei imenso. Olhando para estas críticas, as minhas expectativas aumentaram bastante, ainda por cima com um elenco destes!
